In the 20th century, Erfurt was long regarded as a stable industrial location, but since 1990 the city has developed into the most important service centre of Thuringia. The city collaboration between the state capital and Weimar and Jena has created an attractive economic hub in central Germany. Local companies, threatened by employee misconduct or economic crime by third parties (e.g., competitors), are offered professional investigations by Kurtz Corporate Investigation Erfurt and Thuringia. Many companies founded in the early 20th century fell victim to expropriation by the Nazi regime and became state-owned after the Second World War. After the end of the GDR, these companies were largely privatised again and gradually regained economic strength through mergers despite initial challenges. Today (2022), Erfurt provides employment to 144,700 people, of whom 113,663 are employees subject to social insurance contributions at their workplace. Added to this are commuters from the surrounding area, contributing to the economic strength of central Thuringia – some of whom have been or will be subjects of our corporate investigators, whose speciality is covert employee screening.
Thuringia's excellent transport links, via motorways 4, 71 and 73 as well as by rail to the whole of Germany and beyond, support the export activities of the state and the capital. In 2014, Erfurt’s export quota was 27.65 per cent – a strong figure for the city and a clear sign of economic stability, even though it is below the national average. However, as economic strength and employment in Thuringia increase, so does the incidence of economic crime: in 2015 alone, these caused around 41 million euros in damage in the state. The dark figure is enormous, as not all offences are reported, with many companies fearing reputational damage more than financial loss. The range of these economic crimes is wide: unfair competition, theft of company data, product piracy and burglary, as well as offences committed by employees themselves, such as sick leave fraud, warehouse and transport crime, expense fraud, bribery and industrial espionage.
In these and many other cases, our corporate investigators in Erfurt and Thuringia support you with their deductive investigative methods. You can present your case to us without obligation in a personal meeting or by e-mail to kontakt@kurtz-detektei-erfurt.de. Of course, we treat every enquiry with the utmost discretion.
From 2014 to 2015, Erfurt’s population grew by around 4,000 inhabitants. Due to the stable economic situation, more and more people are drawn to the state capital, with over 50,000 commuters added. Erfurt is increasingly popular as a place to live and work, unfortunately also for individuals with criminal intentions. In the private sphere, especially residential burglary shows increasing numbers of cases; Erfurt leads Thuringia in this crime type with 214 cases (2015), while other major cities such as Jena, Eisenach or Gotha record two-digit figures.
Our skilled private detectives in Erfurt and Thuringia investigate these and other cases that are often not satisfactorily handled by state authorities. Our investigators also assist with private matters such as maintenance and custody disputes, suspected infidelity of a life or spouse partner, domestic violence, as well as property offences like fraud, vandalism, threats, stalking, or tracing absconding debtors. You are welcome to describe your case to us without obligation via our contact form.
The state capital Erfurt, with 215,771 inhabitants (2024), is the largest city in Thuringia and one of the region’s major centres. Erfurt takes pride in its university, opened in 1392, closed in 1816 and re-established in 1994, with its founding privilege from 1379 making it the oldest university in Germany. In 2014, a total of 10,122 students were enrolled at the university and the university of applied sciences. The large number of schools and secondary schools demonstrates the value Erfurt places on education.
However, the state capital is not only impressive as an educational centre but also with historic architecture from the 10th to the 18th century, for example the city centre from the 10th century and the outer old town with buildings from the 14th century. Numerous museums complete the picture of a culturally, educationally and economically strong city. In this complex setting, our qualified private and corporate detectives in Erfurt and Thuringia carry out investigations for court-admissible evidence – also in cases of theft of research content, misuse of company data, or infringement of patent rights.
