In April 2016, around 16,000 persons were officially recorded as currently missing in Germany, approximately half of whom were under 18 years of age. The search for individuals who have left their usual living environment against their will (child abduction, kidnapping, etc.) is initially carried out by the police. However, their measures often do not lead to success, prompting desperate relatives to rely on the alternative investigative methods of our detectives from Erfurt.
In many missing person cases, the individual concerned has voluntarily withdrawn from their family and circle of friends (example: a runaway teenager). Children and teenagers run away, for instance, due to problems with their parents or at school, or because of heartbreak. Among adults, it is often elderly persons suffering from advanced dementia who leave their home environment and are unable to find their way back. Unfortunately, in missing person cases it must always be considered that a crime against the health or life of the missing individual may have been committed or could be imminent. Therefore, maximum urgency is always required when searching for missing persons. In addition to the police, the specialists of Kurtz Private Detective Agency Erfurt and Thuringia are your primary contacts for locating missing individuals. You are welcome to describe your case to us by telephone or via e-mail at kontakt@kurtz-detektei-erfurt.de.
If a person is missing and it cannot be assumed that an address investigation will lead to success, our investigators first analyse the environment of the target person (TP): What does the TP’s usual daily routine look like? When do they leave for school or work, and when do they return? Which leisure activities or hobbies do they pursue, and which social contacts do they maintain? Based on these findings, the search area can usually be narrowed down. It is often located close to the individual’s residence, yet our detectives will extend the search beyond Thuringia as far as necessary for the respective case.
A particularly effective method that our experienced investigators have relied on successfully for many years is mantrailing. In this process, the missing person is tracked with the assistance of specially trained scent-tracking dogs that have been prepared for this task since puppyhood. The dogs’ highly sensitive sense of smell enables them to follow the missing person’s trail even weeks or months later using a scent article (for example, an item of the TP’s clothing). Whether through mantrailing, investigative research or surveillance, our private detectives in Erfurt and Thuringia provide professional and discreet support whenever required.
